Praise - Pray - Worship as ONE!
October 11th, 2015 at Wuerfel Park
Unfortunately it is not possible to reserve meals, (expecting God’s blessing of 10,000 people) and it will be first come, first served in meal choices. We appreciate your kindness of letting us know if you are interested in lunch. No outside food can be allowed in the park due to Michigan food service regulations.
PRAISE, PRAY, WORSHIP from 3:00 – 4:30 pm: We will worship with familiar hymns and songs of praise, prayer and an opportunity for the Body of Christ to experience communion as one. It is not a political rally or a Christian concert. No “big name” speakers will be sharing messages. “Northern Michigan Christians Unite” is not sponsored by any specific church, denomination, or para church organization. It will be a simple but incredibly powerful “grass roots” joining together of the people of God to unite and give glory to God.
COMMUNION: We see the sharing of communion to be a powerful and unifying opportunity and it was part of the original vision received for this day. However, we are also aware that, based on specific theological traditions, this may be problematic for some. Participation in Communion is of course optional, so please don’t let it stand in the way of joining with us that day. We pray that no theological barriers will prevent the people of God from gathering on October 11, as we celebrate what unites us in Christ rather than what might otherwise divide us. The “Lord’s Prayer” will serve as our “template” as we flow through worship and prayer.
SEATING: Wuerfel Park has approximately 4,600 chairs in the grandstand. To accommodate 10,000 worshippers, we will also need to spread out onto the field. Chairs cannot be placed on the turf, so please encourage all who are able to bring blankets to sit on. Handicap seating is available. If you are bringing chairs, you can sit on the side lawn area.
PARKING: There are parking spaces for 1,100 cars and parking is also permitted on the neighboring streets, but it may be tight, so please consider carpooling, bringing church vans, etc.
We are so looking forward to joining with you on Sunday, October 11th. In the meantime, please be in prayer that everything God has appointed for this gathering will come to pass. We know this is of God and will bear much fruit for the Kingdom. You and your family will be incredibly blessed and your presence will be a blessing to God.
